CAMBRIDGE FILMING LOCATIONS

On Location Tours welcomes you to Cambridge. The locals call this Boston area “Left Bank” because of its location just across the Charles River.  Cambridge is famous for its unique shopping, street performers, rich cultural diversity with over 100,000 residents, Ivy League University Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the fact that all of this is all taking place in an area that is roughly six square miles!  It’s no wonder that Cambridge is a filming location for many Movie and TV Shows.

Cambridge is jam-packed with historic sites, including Harvard Art Museum which includes the collections  of work from three different museums, (Busch-Reisinger Museum, Fogg Museum, and The Arthur M. Sackler Museum) This Museum offers  a unique experience presenting every visitor with over 260,000 objects on display in every media, and representing cultures around the world including Africa, The Middle East, and Asia. Another Museum of interest is the Harvard Museum of Natural History which is also Harvard’s most visited museum.  Visitors will enjoy learning about Animals from around the world, dinosaurs, meteorites, and the world famous Blaschka Glass Flower exhibit.

Harvard Square is the heart of Cambridge and located in the center of the neighborhood at the intersection of John F. Kennedy Street and Massachusetts Avenue. Delicious restaurants, can’t be missed shopping from local venders, and community activities fill Harvard square throughout the year.  Located next to Harvard Square is The American Repertory Theatre.  Highly acclaimed for uniting artists from different disciplines and different cultures around the world in one stage.  Depending on the day you visit The American Repertory Theatre Shakespeare may be on the program or a provocative opera being sung on the stage. Take the MBTA Red Line for an easy and quick trip to a must see performance.

Other must see sights in Cambridge include Scullers Jazz Club, Fred Taylor leads this Jazz club and provides world-class entertainment while guests also enjoy a breathtaking view of the Charles River and Boston’s skyline making this jazz club a true Boston Landmark.  Kendall Square Cinema is another city landmark and a successful theater venue located between the historical Central and Kendall Squares. Cambridge Side Galleria has a place for everyone in the mood for shopping.  Stores include, Borders, Best Buy, Filene’s Basement, The Apple Store, and many more.  When you need a bight to eat check out one of the many restaurant options like The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, or grab a quick bight from the Waterfront Food Festival located inside the galleria.
