HEARTBURN FILMING LOCATIONS

Heartburn is a celebrated drama based on Nora Ephron’s semi-autobiographical novel Heartburn.  The books adaptation to film stars Meryl Streep as Rachel Samstat, a New York City food writer and Jack Nicholson as Mark Forman, a political columnist in Washington D.C.  Rachel and Mark meet at a mutual friends wedding and a relationship is made.  The two are soon married and have a child together.  The family moves to Georgetown and buys an old home and are inspired to renovate the home themselves in order to have a home they always dreamed of.  The renovations however, are much more work than either thought and the couple’s relationship becomes strained.  Rachel puts all their past quarrels aside when she finds out she is pregnant and makes a final sacrifice to save her marriage, quitting her job and becoming a stay at home mom.

While Rachel is pregnant she discovers that Mark has been having an affair with another woman.  Devastated she moves back to NYC and attempts to jumpstart her career while living with her father.  Mark is not far behind, following Rachel to New York and begging her to take him back.  Rachel determined to give Mark a second chance returns to Georgetown; Rachel is only disappointed when Mark never truly changes his philandering ways.
