This month, there has been a lot of film crews coming in and out of the city. From new seasons of shows like Jessica Jones and exciting new projects from Melissa McCarthy, check out the full list here:

 

Jessica Jones

Starring: Krysten Ritter

Filming: 23rd St & Hoyt Ave

Part of the Marvel Universe, Jessica Jones acting as one fourth of The Defenders. Season 3 of the Netflix series is currently being filmed in New York. See Jessica Jones locations on our very own Super Tour.

 

Aviva

Starring: TBD

Filming: 72nd & 5th Ave

Aviva is an ambitious project that tells the story of a suffering marriage through contemporary dance throughout New York City.

 

Tell Me A Story

Starring: Billy Magnussen, Kim Cattrall

Filming: East 94th St & 2nd Ave

This new psychological thriller TV series is set to premiere on CBS All Access this fall. The series is based on the Mexican show Habia una vez and is being developed for American audiences by Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson.

 

The Kitchen

Starring: Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, Elisabeth Moss

Filming: Long Island

The upcoming 2019 feature film is an ensemble film about three mobster wives who take over an organized crime operation after their husbands’ arrest. It will be the directorial debut of Straight Outta Compton screenwriter Andrea Berloff.

 

The Tick

Starring: Peter Serafinowicz

Filming: 37th St & 34th Ave

This series takes a more comic approach to superheroes, and stars Peter Serafinowicz as the titular Tick in a bright blue costume. Season 2 is currently filming in New York and will be on Amazon Prime in 2019.

 

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Starring: Rachel Brosnahan, Tony Shalhoub, Alex Borstein

Filming: Lower East Side

After Season 1 of this Amazon Prime TV series won Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and Best Actress in a Comedy, it was a no-brainer to renew for Season 2, currently filming. Both seasons are primarily filmed in New York, but made to look like 1958, when the show takes place.

 

The Deuce

Starring: James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal

Filming: West 122nd St & Malcolm X Blvd

Following the success of the first season, Season 2 is currently filming in NYC. The HBO series takes place in the 1970s, telling the story of the legalization and rise of the porn industry.

 

Otherhood

Starring: Angela Bassett, Patricia Arquette

Filming: Hudson St & Franklin St

Three suburban moms travel to NYC to visit their sons in this Netflix original film set to be streaming in 2019.

 

The Real Housewives of New York

Starring: Bethenny Frankel, Luann de Lesseps

Filming: All Around NYC

Now in its tenth season, your favorite real housewives are always filming around the city.

 

After the Wedding

Starring: Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams

Filming: Long Island

The remake of this 2006 Danish film is currently filming in New York and India, directed by star Julianne Moore’s husband, Bart Freundlich.

 

She’s Gotta Have It

Starring: Dewanda Wise

Filming: Montague St

This Netflix series is based on the 1986 film of the same name, both created by director Spike Lee. After the success of the first season, Season 2 is now filming.

 

The Code

Starring: Anna Wood

Filming: Greenwood Cemetery

CBS recently picked up this series to premiere in early 2019. The military legal drama is created by Limitless showrunner Craig Sweeney.

 

Ray Donovan

Starring: Liev Schreiber

Filming: West 58th St & 8th Ave

In its sixth season, the hit Showtime series is moving to New York City for the first time! The new episodes are set to premiere later this year.

 

John Wick 3: Parabellum

Starring: Keanu Reeves

Filming: 45th St & Madison Ave

In the third chapter of this action franchise, John Wick has to escape New York when he becomes a target for a group of assassins.

 

Pose

Starring: Evan Peters, Billy Porter

Filming: Brooklyn

The first season of this groundbreaking FX series is currently airing, and it features a cast of transgender women of color along with some recognizable faces. Pose comes from creator Ryan Murphy, mastermind of Glee and American Horror Story.
