Filming in NYC: September Edition

 

From old favorites like Blue Bloods to new projects like Tigertail, plenty is being filmed in NYC this month. Check out the full list.

 

Blue Bloods

Starring: Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Tom Selleck

Filming: Broadway Stages, Brooklyn

We’re so excited to see the new development in the Reagan family, that Eddie and Jamie are finally getting married, and how it sets up the upcoming 9th season in NYC.

 

Manifest

Starring: Josh Dallas

Filming: Sands Point Preserve, Long Island

In this new NBC high concept series, a group of passengers survive a three hour plane crash and find out that five years have passed in the world around them.

 

Gotham

Starring: Ben McKenzie

Filming: Alder Manor, Yonkers

After Gotham City was evacuated at the end of last season, it will be interesting to see where the show goes from here. The fifth and final season of the superhero centred show is coming in early 2019 and you can see locations from the show on our Super Tour of NYC.

 

Law & Order: SVU

Starring: Mariska Hargitay

Filming: 27th Street & 6th Avenue, Manhattan

Upcoming Season 12 of SVU will allow it to be tied with Gunsmoke for the longest running drama in the U.S., and we can’t wait for Olivia Benson to solve more cases in NYC.

 

Tigertail

Starring: John Cho

Filming: 59th Street & 6th Avenue, Manhattan

From the mind of Alan Yang of Master of None and Parks and Recreation fame comes a new Netflix original film starring John Cho, based on Yang’s family in 1950s Vietnam and present day New York City.

 

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Starring: Rachel Brosnahan, Tony Shalhoub, Alex Borstein

Filming: Crescent & 21st Street, Queens

After Season 1 of this Amazon Prime TV series won Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and Best Actress in a Comedy, it was a no-brainer to renew for Season 2, currently filming. Both seasons are primarily filmed in New York, but made to look like 1958, when the show takes place.

 

Billions

Starring: Paul Giamatti, Damian Lewis

Filming: 87th Street & Amsterdam, Manhattan

The end of season 3 saw (spoiler) Taylor creating a new firm, and we can’t wait to see what happens next in this financial Showtime drama.

 

Tell Me A Story

Starring: Billy Magnussen, Kim Cattrall

Filming: Museum of the Moving Image, Astoria

This new psychological thriller TV series is set to premiere on CBS All Access this fall. The series is based on the Mexican show Habia una vez and is being developed for American audiences by Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson.

 

Instinct

Starring: Alan Cumming

Filming: North Moore & White Street, Manhattan

Based on the book Murder Games, Instinct is returning for a second season on CBS, Alan Cumming stars in this procedural thriller taking place in NYC.

 

The Last OG

Starring: Tracy Morgan, Tiffany Haddish

Filming: Valentino Pier, Brooklyn

The Last OG is returning for a second season on TBS with a new showrunner, centering around a recently released convict returning to Brooklyn to find his neighbor changed in 2018.
