In this comedy, three ex-wives who have been dumped for younger ladies are determined to get their revenge. They had helped their husbands become financially successful, so they cleverly plan to get their ex-husbands where it really hurts: their wallets. However, they break some laws in the process, and have to get themselves out of trouble.
This great 1996 movie boasts an all-star cast. Bette Midler plays Brenda. A two-time Oscar Nominee and a Grammy Award Winner, she is a successful, comedian, and author. She has sold in excess of 15 million albums worldwide. She has also starred in numerous films such as Beaches, Stella, Hocus Pocus, Gypsy, Get Shorty, What Women Want, The Stepford Wives, and The Women.
Diane Keaton, who plays Annie, is a household name who has won an Oscar as well as two Golden Globes. Two of these awards were for the movie Annie Hall, a comedy written and directed by Woody Allen. Keaton Played the love interest of Woody Allen’s character, Alvy Singer. Other movies that Diane Keaton is well known for include The Godfather, The Godfather: Part II, The Good Mother, Father of the Bride, The Other Sister, Something’s Gotta Give, Look Who’s Talking Now, Terminal Impact, The Family Stone, Because I said So, and Mad Money.
Finally, Goldie Hawn plays Elise. Goldie is known for always playing the loveable goof. She worked as a professional dancer before becoming an actress. She has starred in movies such as Cactus Flower, There’s a Girl in My Soup, The Sugarland Express, Shampoo, Foul Play, Private Benjamin, Protocol, Overboard, Death Becomes Her, Everyone Says I Love You, The Banger Sisters, and many others.
Principal photography for the film took place over three months at the Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens, New York City. Among the 60 sites showcased on screen are Christie's auction house, the Bowery Bar, a suite at The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, the Cafe des Artistes, the King Cole bar at the St. Regis Hotel, Frank E. Campbell's funeral home, and Barney's, as well as the Chrysler Building, the NoHo neighborhood, both the 5th and the 7th Avenue, the Riverside Drive, and the Central Park.
The Plaza Hotel is a New York City landmark that has been featured in countless films. The New York TV & Movie Sites Tour and the Central Park TV & Movie Sites Tour both feature this famous building (which is also now a residence for some of Manhattan’s wealthiest).
