The two fans attempt to kidnap the star player of the opposing team, Lewis Scott (Dwayne Johnson), before the championship game. As they hold Lewis Scott hostage, they begin building a bond with him and regret their decisions. Now they must find a way to release him without getting caught.

  • The games and other scenes were filmed at the TD Garden in Boston, where the Celtics actually play.
  • The Roxy NightClub location was filmed right in the heart of Boston.
  • Doyle’s Pub was located on 3484 Washington Street, Jamaica Plain in Boston.

Some interesting facts included throughout the film include, Boston Celtics legend, Larry Bird, has a cameo during the club scene. Lewis Scott’s character was supposed to mirror Michael Jordan’s habits and playing skills. This movie was the second film of 1996 that talked about sports obsessions.
