The film revolves around Jay Gatsby, who is a mysterious and wealthy man who throws extravagant parties at his mansion in Long Island. Gatsby falls in love with the narrators, Nick Carraway, cousin, Daisy Buchanan, who is married to Tom Buchanan, but they have a very unloyal marriage. The film includes Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway, Cary Mulligan as Daisy, and Joel Edgerton as Tom Buchanan.
