SATC Tour & Tutu Project Event Recap
On Saturday, November 1st, fifty women in pink tutus fluttered around Fifth Avenue before boarding the Sex and the City Hotspots tour bus. On Location Tours utilized its tour to promote breast cancer awareness and raise proceeds for The Carey Foundation. For a more in-depth look into the day, read Linda Carey’s excerpt below: Cosmopolitans, cupcakes, and Michael Kors, they’re a great combination on any day, but on November 1st they were exceptionally delightful as Bob and I joined On Location Tours for their Sex and the City Hotspots tour! Not only was it great to see New York City from a different vantage point, it was fun to trace the steps of Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte. As we moved through streets of the city, video clips rolled and I was reminded of the many poignant moments of the…

Birdman filming locations in NYC
Birdman tells the story of a has-been actor famous for playing an iconic superhero, and his attempt to revive his career by mounting a Broadway play. Michael Keaton, coincidentally considered one of the best reincarnations of Batman, stars. Edward Norton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, and Zach Galifanakis round out the cast. Birdman was shot largely at the St. James Theater (246 W 44th St), in its dressing rooms, lobby, orchestra seats, and on the stage itself. The theater’s exterior is showcased as well – Keaton was photographed hanging from a crane outside of the St. James, with multiple Broadway marquees and the iconic Theatre District restaurant Sardis in the background. The Birdman trailer also features Keaton running through Times Square in his underwear, and a battle scene unfolding on 43rd St. The block was shut down outside Holy Cross School…
Review: Central Perk NYC Pop-Up Shop
By Anjuli Johnson I finally made it to Central Perk, the (temporary) mecca for any Friends super-fan like myself. It took some serious dedication. I waited in line for two and a half hours in the rain, and I even got splashed by a passing car. My friends and I thought the rain might make…

A behind-the-scenes peek at NYC studio filming
Here at On Location Tours, we’re all about exterior film shoots that take place right here on the streets of New York City. It’s always thrilling to pass by a production shoot. You never know which famous actors or directors you might see. We live for the “lights, camera, and action!” That being said, we couldn’t pass up the chance to get a behind-the-scenes peek into the world of studio filming. This past Sunday, Kaufman Astoria Studios opened their backlot to the public. We were treated to stunt performances and were able to look into actor’s trailers. Check out some of the photos Georgette Blau, On Location Tours owner, took at the “New York on Location” event. OLT intern, Anjuli, attended the event too and saw actress Lucy Liu give a street fighting demonstration!
